Coalition for the Homeless

Provides links to resources for emergency shelter, permanent housing, eviction prevention, disability rights, domestic violence, and food security information.

NYC 311 Shelters

The Department of Homeless Services (DHS) homeless shelter system provides temporary, emergency shelter. You can also get assistance if you are about to become homeless. If you would like to speak to a counselor, 311 can give you the address of your local HomeBase office. You can also find links to information on Homeless Drop-In Centers and Eviction Prevention and HomeBase.

The Ali Forney Center

Provides LGBTQ young people housing and a continuum of supportive services to help them thrive and prepare them for independent living.

HRA Rental Assistance

The Department of Social Services (DSS), which includes both the Department of Homeless Services (DHS) and the Human Resources Administration (HRA), can help you connect to rental assistance programs like CityFHEPS, and many other programs available through the State and Federal Government.
