12/13: Cartoon County: Cullen MurphyVanity Fair editor, Cullen Murphy reconstructs the poignant history of cartoonists and illustrators from the Connecticut School. 6:30 PM, Stephen A. Schwarzman Building.

12/13: Gwendolyn Brooks Centennial Celebration: Celebrate the centennial year and learn the wonder of language of Pulitzer Prize winning poet, Gwendolyn Brooks. 6:30 PM, The Schomburg Center.

12/13: Toscanini's American Anthems: Listen to America in the wake of the Pearl Harbor attack, with a radio collage featuring the NBC Symphony Orchestra broadcast. 7 PM, Library for the Performing Arts.

12/14: The Chamberlain Brass Performance: Take an exciting journey through four centuries of musical history as The Chamberlain Brass performs music from the Renaissance, Baroque, and Romantic  eras. 6 PM, Library for the Performing Arts.

12/16: Going Way Back with Big Daddy Kane: Grammy award-winning rapper Big Daddy Kane brings fresh insight into the origins of Hip Hop music and celebrates the 30th-anniversary of his debut album "Long Live The Kane." 1 PM, The Schomburg Center.

12/18: Masha Gessen: The Stories of a Life, Robert B. Silvers Lecture: National Book Award winner and journalist, Masha Gessen delivers this year's annual Robert B. Silvers lecture, "The Stories of a Life." 7 PM, Stephen A. Schwarzman Building 

12/21: Bernstein on Film: On the Waterfront: Leonard's Bernstein's Oscar-winning film score brings a mournful and percussive sound to the classic tale of corruption on the New York docks.  6 PM, Library for the Performing Arts

12/12: Elder Law: Learn How to Protect Your Assets: Learn about tips on legal issues concerning long-term care insurance, trusts, Medicaid eligibility and more in a workshop designed for all seniors. 6 PM, Science, Industry and Business Library.

12/12: How to be a Presentation Guru in Your Business or Career: Become great at public speaking and become a leader in your field with helpful tips from an expert speaker. 6 PM, Science, Industry and Business Library.

12/13: Perfect Elevator Pitch: You Are Not Your Resume:  Learn the difference between a Networking Elevator Pitch and an Interview Elevator Pitch in a discussion that will help you create connections and get the job that you've always wanted. 6 PM, Science, Industry and Business Library.
