Explore your artistic potential with Creative Aging, a series of art workshops for adults 50 and older.

This program will be held in person at Tremont Library.

Writing a Tune to Your Life takes inspiration from their local branch autobiography collection and your own life to compose to make your own song. Patrick Thompson, New York City Center teaching artist and music director will guide participants in exploration into how songs are made from investigating lyrics and music composition. Writing a Tune to Your Life, walk through the steps of song composition and work together to create their own. If scheduling aligns, participants may also be invited to New York City Center to attend an Encores! musical theater production.

All materials will be provided for this program. 

Attendance at all sessions is recommended. Space is limited | Supplies are available on a first come, first serve basis.  Registration is recommended.  Register for April events above with your email address. Walkups will be permitted as space accommodates.

About the Artist

Patrick Thompson is primarily a composer, music director and teacher. With an undergraduate mix of instrumental composition, songwriting, music technology and film along with a Master's Degree in Musical Theatre Writing from NYU, Patrick has a diverse background in many areas of music and theatre.

Creative Aging is a series of free art classes for adults 50 and older.
