NYPL Launches After-School Programs

Students from elementary through high school can now explore new ideas and find the help they need in three educational programs that engage students in hands-on learning:

  • Enrichment Zones that provide students with an academic boost through customized homework help and tutoring sessions;
  • Innovations Labs for middle and high school students who work on technology projects that address community issues;
  • And Literacy Leaders, which is improving literacy skills for all ages by pairing young elementary school children with trained high school tutors. Beginning readers develop confidence and better reading comprehension skills, while teens earn school credit and the opportunity to apply for a paid tutoring internship.
